Eric Clapton's "Woman Tone" refers to the sound of the neck pickup being slightly muffled which brings a soft whine in the midrange. Just listen to Eric Clapton's sound on "White Room" or "Sunshine of Your Love" to hear and understand the Famous "Woman Tone".
The .015uf capacitor rolls off less high end on your tone control compared to the standard .022uf value which has a slightly darker effect. The result is a sweeter, more transparent tone when you roll the tone control back.
