.0012uf 600V / 6PS-D12 Orange Drop - Amp & Guitar Tone Capacitor.
Premium Components - Cornell Dubilier (CDE) Orange Drop® Capacitors
This capacitor value was first used as a "treble bleed" in the 1990s when Australian luthier Chris Kinman began using a 1200pF (.0012uf) capacitor and a 130k ohm resistor in series to enable him to maintain high tones at low volumes on his guitars.
This configuration is considered by many to be the best of the three populaire versions, as it seems to solve the problem of the volume pot tapering and the tight sound. Even Fender uses it now. Their system uses a 1000 pF capacitor and a 130k-ohm resistor, and is nicknamed the Fender Tone Saver.
Treble Bleed values vary depending on the tone you are looking for... So if you are an avid guitarist looking for your sound and tone, here are the different combinations you should try, (from 470 pF to 1500 pF for the capacitor) and (100k-ohm to 330k-ohm for the resistor).
